greetings again from orlando. this hopefully is the last week of all this "proof of concept" bullshit that i'm going through. because, you see, the orlando portion of my company does things in a very inefficient, ass-backwards, bureaucratic way. not to mention that the general attitude i get from the workers is that they are still in the 19th century and the term incog-Negro -- that's right, someone whom i work with enjoys using the term incog-Negro -- is acceptible. grrrrr. neanderthals. no, not even neanderthals. human cholesterol. oxygen thieves. ugh. i've said this before. i think my son having not so dark skin like mine will have certain advantages in American society that i did not and do not have. see, when i walk down a hallway, the cretins like the incognegro user above can already begin acting from t=0 as a racist pig dog. but my boy is shaping up to have fair to tan skin. and he has brownish/blond hair. can you believe that? i am as frickin filipino as they come -- dark brown skin, black hair -- and my boy will have brownish/blond hair. and oh, if the United States is still as biased as it is, i hope he takes advantage of it for all he's worth. that while i will teach him of all the screwed up things i've had to deal with from bus drivers to cab drivers to men in management suits, he'll know how to play the game to his advantage. be excellent in everything that you do. and try not to hurt other people. because after all, in the US, no matter how many people support equal rights for minorities -- racial, gender, lifestyle orientation, etc. -- it's not about fairness. it's about winning. anyone else who tells you otherwise will work for you someday.
