i'm very angry today. it's the end of a project that i've been working on for two-plus years, and people some five miles away from me working on the same project will be rewarded with 40% of their salary. me? not even an invite to their "end of project" party. the project isn't really ending though. after 2+ years of work, the execution has been shitty. did they fulfill all of their objectives? nope. did they achieve the cost savings they promised to the company? nope. are they really done with what they were supposed to do during the promised timeframe? nope. are they going to get their 40% salary bonuses? yup. how fucked up is that? do i want that bonus too? sure. although my own solution to this issue would also suffice -- don't hand out any bonuses. they didn't deserve it. they didn't deliver. ugh. i'm bitter right now. i need to go home and play with my son. i can't though. i've signed on to finish out this project. apparently with no bonus or reward for doing my work well. this sucks eggs. i hate my company.
