july is over, and for once the clouds are a blanket on the Santa Monica hills with helicopter ticks checking out the 405 looking for dead people or almost dead people. the collective IQ of Los Angeles is 100 minus the sigalerts at 6AM. i'm lucky to be able to type this morning. work is murder. we're playing Survivor with our VPs in an attempt at reorganization. it's a good thing. we're whittling some three dozen VPs to nine slots. no promotions. all current VPs apply for three of nine positions if they wish. think of a battle royale wrestling match with resumes and power ties. my family is good. my son is almost 2 and has taken a liking to all things water living. but more on the battle royale later...
